Listening bar is a mood, not one fixed format.
Some Seoul LP bars take requests. Some let the staff shape the entire room. Live jazz bars trade records for a stage, but they solve the same solo-travel problem: you never have to invent a reason to be there alone.

What is a listening bar?
It is a bar where the sound system, record collection, or live performance is central to the room. Some are quiet and reverent; others feel like relaxed cocktail bars with unusually good music.
Can I request a song?
Only at some places. Digging Club welcomes requests through its own flow, while Chogo limits requests to Korean tracks. At staff-curated rooms, enjoy the sequence unless the bar explicitly invites requests.
Are Seoul listening bars good for solo travelers?
They are among the easiest nightlife formats to visit alone. The music gives you a focus, counter seats simplify ordering, and silence does not read as awkward.
